My craft projects are slowly taking over the residence. There's stuff in the bedroom, the living room and the kitchen. Various cabinets and drawers house yarn, thread, fabric and needles. The dining table always has to be cleared of projects in progress to make room for dinner. It was time for a dedicated craft area to be established. All of the bedrooms are taken and there isn't much leftover space. I've been looking for a piece of furniture that could both house my supplies and be a functional area for working on projects. The other day I decided to take a look at Craig's List just for kicks and that's when I found this cabinet...in Vegas...for SIXTY DOLLARS! The girl I bought it from said her mom sewed on this thing for ages but bought a new, high tech, computerized machine that won't even come close to fitting in this thing. So now it will be recycled and start it's life all over again with a girl (wow, that's a stretch!) just learning to sew. Happy ending.
Closed.

Open. Surprise, a fold-out sewing table!

Nice find. Good ol' craigslist. We're selling our kitchen table to a lady today on there. I don't know if you are like me, but I have certain keyword searches I always do and I'm not too proud of them; divorce, foreclosure, bankruptcy. Again, not proud of it, but you can get some crazy deals that way.
you are truly related to your Aunt Cathy!!!! That girl can find a bargin, blind folded, handcuffed in the dark!!!! Looks like you inherited her talent! I never find a deal!!!!!!
Jen, that was a great find! Back in my sewing days, I would have loved to have a sewing cabinet like that. I always had the same dining table issues as you and they sometimes thwarted my creativity. Have fun with all your many projects.
