Clay Chimps

Sunday, my mom called Mollie and told her about an art contest that the newspaper was putting on. The medium is clay so, of course, Mollie jumped all over it. She got right to work and made these cute little chimps. The favorites in each category get posted in the paper and the overall winner gets 100 bucks. Mollie entered the realism category. She really wanted to give the monkeys red sneakers but decided that wouldn't be very realistic.

One more monkey and you have Haley's 3 boys!
Mollie, you are such a talented artist. I love that you can whip something up so fast. You have your Mother's incredible gift for creating!!

Cute!!! Molie, I have decided once you are proficient with polymer you need to graduate to PMC. (Precious metal clay). You are really good at this clay stuff, and those monkeys would be too cute made into jewelry! I think we’ll need a kiln? They may make a low fire one. I’ll see about it if you are interested? I could front you some PMC for a monkey charm. Your talent amazes me!

Girl, that stuff is crazy spendy! The clay itself is expensive but the kiln...wow. I never knew such a thing existed. Pretty awesome.

I love your monkeys, Mollie! I have a t-shirt that says "Boys are cute but Monkeys are cuter". Jake and Brady love it, as I call them my "little monkeys". Good luck with the contest.

I know PMC is pricy but if Mollie wants to try it, maybe we can figure it out. I love what they are doing with that stuff. I would do it myself but I lack what it takes (TALENT) I tried to get the only sclupter I know (my son) to use it and he tossed it aside. He may have some leftovers? He loves that horrible gobby brown clay. I want a silver monkey!!!!!!
