Ouch.

In my quest to tackle all things crafty that I never learned as a girl, I have, with the help of YouTube and a book or two, taught myself to knit. Please, hold your applause. I do have a newfound respect for all the arthritic knitters out there who persevere in spite of their pain. My hands are crippled after just 2 days of this business and I don't even have any rheumatic issues. Frank's grandmother would crotchet until her hands were practically twisted. His mother has to wear a wrist guard to keep knitting. I never understood what all the hullabaloo was about until I picked up my needles and gave it a go. It's so relaxing! Although very frustrating at first, (I was dangerously close to impaling anyone who came near me as I was trying to learn to cast on) I now find myself getting lost for hours, just stitching away. And if I find that I just can't make anything cool with all that I'm learning, I'll use the leftover yarn to make you all one of these for Christmas.
