Kids are pretty rad people. It's too bad that as we age we seem to lose that confident sense of belief that we had as children. The other day I was making dinner and Mollie was planting grass seeds in this tiny vase/refrigerator magnet. In typical mom fashion I said, "Fred, that's never gonna work". After all, it's a very shallow vessel and there was hardly any dirt and she dumped a ton of water on the damn thing AND we don't get much natural light in our kitchen (and who really wants a vase of wet dirt on their fridge?). She was optimistic in spite of my nay saying. We agreed to disagree. I forgot all about it until yesterday, when I went to get something out of the fridge. There it was, proof of Mollie's optimism. I stand corrected. Thank you, Mollie for reminding me to look for the possibilities and not to always expect the worst. You rule.

The Grass Is Always Greener In The Kitchen

Mollie,
You never cease to amaze me! You are the most creative young lady that I know. Your optimism is heart-warming. Also, you have an incredible sense of style. I love the vase the grass is growing in. It is very avant-garde and very today!! Keep up the good work and keep teaching not only your Mother, but all of us that Love Love Love you!

That's a really sweet story. I can't wait to learn such wonderful lessons from my children. Jen, you and Frank have obviously done an excellent job raising your children!
