There's No Place Like Home.

Vacation's over. Back to work and school. What a drag. Frank was smart enough to take an extra vacation day to help ease him back into work gently. We had such a nice time visiting (and eating) with you all. There's a lot of running and lite meals in our future to make up for the 5 day non-stop feeding frenzy. We enjoyed every bite! It was great to have the kids laugh together and get along for a change. I must say that I was glad to return to the desert. Humidity is not my friend. I have two big honkin zits and a couple of bad hair photos to prove it. Thanks to all of you for sharing your time with us. Just hanging out and doing nothing in good company was really refreshing. Here are some pictures of the highlights. Enjoy.

Mollie found Granny and Papa's new kittens in the woodshed. Instant friends.

Frankie found the scooter and oddly enough, an axe in the basket attached to the scooter. Lunatic.

Mollie found the complimentary shower cap and the mini fridge. Gotta love an easily entertained kid.

Have you ever been fishing with Steve Bush and my dad? Fishing marathon 2008. I think he was praying for rain.

Lookin sweaty and eatin' mudbugs.

Chad and Libby joined us for Mudbug. Libby didn't melt like I did.

I honestly thought the beanies would be given a break in the 90 degree, 90 percent humidity...not so much.

Chad and Frankie vs. Libby and Mollie in a water balloon war.

Fred and I hit up the jumpy thing. I'm lucky not to have peed my pants. Libby...not a fan.

My little homie for the entire pool party. Love this guy!

Granny's and Landry spent some quality time together out of the sun.

Fred and Grandpa spend a little time snuggling.

Some nature shots from Grandpa's yard.

Those are awesome photos. Because I'm a bug nerd, my favorite is the one of the orchard spider. He looks like he's just been caught smoking. Awesome. Oh and the kids are cool too. And I hate your guts for getting to eat so many crawfish. That is all.

Mollie actually took that one. And don't hate me too bad because it was sooo damn hot that we only ate 2 pounds between the 4 of us. We had to pick the hottest time of day on the hottest day of the week to go to mudbug. Brilliant.

What? Do your elderly not scoot around with axes in their baskets?? What's so strange about that? You never know when you'll encounter the enemy.

These days, Papa always has an axe to grind!
